Me and my girl

Saturday morning!

The kids are still enjoying having Tim around more. Especially in the weekends when they can hang out and just do normal weekend things.

Early birthday present for Jack.

Today we popped back down to the World Cycling Centre to check out the Azia, an exhibition of local businesses.
Unfortunately for all involved the weather wasn't helping draw in the crowds.

We did a quick lap around the car park and watched a display at the BMX track, but the average weather drove us indoors.
The velodrome was busy with riders preparing for the Swiss Madison Champs (being held tomorrow, Sunday 30th Sept), so we got to watch a little action before Tim gave us a tour of his office and fancy communal coffee machine.

Back out side and hardly any of the fun rides were up and running due to rain, so we headed to the mall next door to get a present for the birthday Jessie was heading to.
On our way back up the hill, Tim's phone buzzed away.
Tim and Jack had entered a competition only an hour earlier to win a ride in a helicopter.
Yup, you guessed it. Jack the lucky little man won a 12 min ride up the valley to lake Geneva, around Chateau Chillion and back.

He was a little apprehensive and very excited, which in Jack language equals a lot of nervous chatter.
Poor pilot!

Surprisingly for Jack, he was a little lost for words when he landed.
But he was beaming from ear to ear.

Jack and I also had a little fun on the trampolines!
I'm showing Jack how a flip is done...in super slow motion I must add.

Jess had a ball at her party and Jack, well Jack will have a great story to tell once he comes back down to earth.

Saturday morning at the Carswells

We came out this morning to find Jack was up already, keeping himself amused.
Life is good!

Party in the sun.

This post was from a few weeks back, but got lost in computer land somewhere....so here goes, again.

The kids were invited to another birthday party down on Lake Geneva.
The sunrise was breath taking after a night of spectacular electric storms. The kids were worried the party might have had to be postponed but were pleasantly surprised to see the storm had blown itself out in the early hours.

We dropped Tim into work on route to the lake hoping he would be able to join us later in the day.
The kids had a blast playing water balloon and sprinkler games in the sun on what proved to be the hottest day this summer. And after a spectacular party lunch and delicious beach themed cake we headed down to the lake for a swim.
We all spent hours in the water. Jack and Jess took turns swimming out into lake with Tim, jumping off the pier and collecting fresh water weed to pile up on the pool wall.
We ended up staying on at the lake till late into the evening and feasting on the last of the party food and lake cooled refreshments.

Les Mosses

We met up with Anthony, Nicholle and their super friendly dog, Jed on Sunday for a hike in the mountains above the ski town of Les Mosses.
We had an amazing day in the sun filled with loads of laughs and plenty of sweat!

The kids and Jed had the best sleep over party ever...you can quess what they want for christmas now.

My class trip to Lausanne. By Jack

On Friday I went to Lausanne for a class trip to explore a cartoon festival and look at a really funny museum.
We caught the cog train from Leysin to Aigle and then we travelled to Lausanne on a double decker super fast train.
It was a really fun day and we got to see and do lots of different things.
I hope you like my photos and one of my favourite songs at the moment.

Les Fers

Another stunning day to venture out and explore the mountains around us.

Un jour en France

Last weekend we popped over to France for the day. Jack needed a few school items...like slippers? for gym and fountain pens for scrip writing....as you do!
So we thought we would make a day of it and visit a lovely medieval town on the edge of Lac Leman (the French name for lake Geneva) that Tim had lucked upon on a ride with an old friend last year.
The weather wasn't so flash as you will see below but we still had a great day.

Swiss School

I have been having trouble getting photos across to the blog. So this slide show below is short and sweet to see if it works.

The kids are coming to the end of their second week at school and are loving it.
Miss social J has already had one birthday party this week and even though most of the kids spoke french she had a blast playing typical party games with Swiss twists.

A typical school day...so far...starts off by catching the bus at 7.50 am returning at 12.05 for a two hour lunch break. They catch the bus for the third time just before 2pm and return around 3.45.
Wednesday is super cool because they get to finish at 11.50 for the day!
Looks like Wednesday afternoons will be for skiing!

We have had our first dusting of snow over the weekend when a rear cold snap blasted the valley. Fortunately it hasn't lasted and most the snow has already melted. There was much excitement by the Carswell family though....The kids and I cant quite emagine the full extent of a  European winter yet. Though I am sure it wont be long though till we get the picture!

Tim also started his new job this week and is getting into the groove of things.
He has been out on his bike most days this week either with the riders or over his lunch break.
Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Take care,
Fee
